In order to reproduce a graphic on a board, DRIFTER MFG uses "screen printing" to get the end result.
To obtain the best quality in screen printing, certain criteria must be met. You need to supply us with your artwork on a computer file. From a computer file, we can produce the film positives for you. Please note that additional expenses will be added if the artwork does not follow guidelines or needs modifications.

1. VECTOR ARTWORK. The "best" way to send in artwork is in Adobe Illustrator format. Illustrator is a vector art program. That means the artwork is a "connect the dot" kind of drawing that uses mathematical calculations to recreate what you draw. This allows you/us to scale your art as small or as large as needed and in turn allows us to reproduce the best quality screen printing. The improper way to use Illustrator is to take a photo you did in photoshop or other bitmap programs and place it in Illustrator. That doesn’t do us any good. Other vector art programs are acceptable like Corel Draw and Freehand, but we prefer you save or export from that program to an Illustrator file.

2. BITMAP ARTWORK. The other option for sending artwork is in a bitmap format. Most drawing programs work in this format. The canvas is setup in a grid called pixels. The pixels are then col ored to form the picture. Each pixel has its own color value if your file is set to RGB or CMYK.

3. HARDCOPY ARTWORK. We are able to use hardcopies (printouts, faxes etc.) to create your artwork. This can be a time consuming process depending on the quality of art provided. We generally have to scan and redraw the artwork in Illustrator for the best results.
Here at DRIFTER MFG we use "spot" color printing. The separation of spot colors is a process that consists of isolating one layer of color after another. Thus, layers will be overlaid one after the other until the final image is obtained. Colors must be chosen with the Pantone coated color swatch or we will do our best to match them for you based on the colors provided.
